Interest Rates Stay On Hold

The Reserve Bank has today kept rates on hold leaving the official rate at 2.75%, following the four rate cuts we've seen over the past year.

RBA Governor Glenn Stevens says "growth in the global economy remains slower than average, and the bank also expects Australia's economy to keep growing at a sluggish pace"

"At today's meeting the board judged that the easier financial conditions now in place will contribute to a strengthening of growth over time, consistent with achieving the inflation target. It decided that the stance of monetary policy remained appropriate for the time being," he said.

We are currently seeing unusually high levels of proactive buyers in the market, many seeking to purchase properties pre-auction or off market and expired listings. Seller's still seem hesitant to accept that the market is strengthening, however we hope to see a change in this very soon.
